The mission of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is to protect human health and the environment. Since 1970, EPA has been working for a cleaner, healthier environment for the American people. Learn how Dumptown became Recycle City - an interactive tool for parents and teachers to help kids understand the importance of recycling in their own hometowns. Teachers, visit EPA’s Teaching Center for lesson plans and other activities! America Recycles Day (ARD) is a national all-volunteer, non-profit organization whose annual campaign on November 15 encourages Americans to recycle and buy recycled products. Since its inception in 1997, the ARD campaign has grown substantially. Last year, residents in every state of the nation participated in America Recycles Day and pledged to recycle.
